Despite the fact that it's hidden away in a dark backstreet alley where there are hardly any lights on at all seems quite unusual, and is by no means easy to reach from the nearest train station, this place has been packed with customers ever since it opened for business 20 years ago. Not only is the food excellent, but it has an easy-going and pleasant atmosphere in which you can really kick back. Especially, the 'sakura' (cherry blossom) trees which line the road in front of the large window make this a fantastic place to enjoy a drink and some delicious food whilst watching the sakura flowers in full bloom during cherry blossom season. Sounds pretty amazing, right? Sit by the counter made of solid wood and chat away with the chefs as they speedily serve up wonderful dishes such as seasonal fish and horse 'sashimi' (fresh raw horsemeat) for your enjoyment. The appetizer menu boasts an array of dishes which really bring out the full flavor of the ingredients, and most of the dishes change daily. There are also seasonal special 'nihonshu' (Japanese sake) on offer, making this a place you can come several times without getting bored!
