When you take into consideration the quality of the food, the service, and the excellent location, you really get a lot of bang for your buck at this place. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks so, as it's gradually becoming harder and harder to get a reservation here! The chef, whose skills are the result of years of training and experience at big-name restaurants, orders seasonal ingredients from all over Japan and uses them to create dishes which are packed full of the taste of the four seasons. It was the start of the summer when I visited the restaurant, and at that time one could sample various seasonal fish including 'ayu' (sweetfish), 'awabi' (abalone) and 'hamo' (pike conger), all put together in simple, light dishes. Among all of this wonderful flavor, though, the stand-out flavor for me was the soup - whose “Japanese dashi” (bonito and kombu stock) had been carefully put together and made the dashi-soup come to life, and left me yearning for more. This is the kind of place that's worth coming back to every time the season changes!
